Time is running out. The deadline for entries is Monday! The media here are already aware of this show, and I expect it to attract a lot of attention among the art community; I've even been receiving queries from outside the DeviantArt community and I would think that representing your nation in an International Exhibition in the United States would be quite an honour.
A few quick notes:
1. This is a juried exhibition. We will be accepting one work from twenty artists from twenty different nations.
2. I ask that if you decide to enter, please offer only one work.
3. Preference is for smaller works (16" by 20" or smaller) - smaller frames help my gallery keep its costs down. Preference is also for original work over prints, but prints will be accepted.
4. If you enter, please submit a link to your work in a Note (not as a reply to this Journal) and indicate your country's name as the title for the Note - this makes it easier for us to sort through the entries.
5. Deadline for entries is Monday, June 1. I will let the selected entrants know of the outcome of the jury process on or about June 2. Selected entrants will receive an 809 Gallery T-shirt [link] , the poster for the exhibition, and an invitation to the opening reception on August 1.
6. I will provide the gallery's mailing address to the artists whose work is selected, but you're responsible for the cost to ship the work to me. I'll pay for the return shipping for any unsold work.
7. The gallery's commission for sales is one-third of the total sales price, so take that into account when pricing your work. NFS work will also be accepted. I will be happy to help in pricing, if you'd like.
8. If your work is selected, I will contact you by Note and ask for your personal contact information. This will allow me to get in touch with you if there's a problem or question and allows me to return unsold work. For this reason, if you are under 18, I ask that you have parental permission before entering.
9. Payments for work sold through the gallery will be made through PayPal or international money order and will be sent after the show comes down on Saturday, September 5. Unsold works will be returned during the week of September 7 through 12.
10. Three-dimensional as well as two-dimensional work will be considered for the exhibition.
11. 809 Gallery cannot be responsible for work lost in the mail, so I recommend that if your work is chosen, please send it certified and/or insured.
12. Selected work must be received by the gallery no later than Saturday, July 18.
I imagine I'll get a lot of entries, so if your work is not selected, don't take it as a personal affront. Since 809 Gallery is a business, I have to consider factors such as sales price, saleability, size, etc. Let me know if you have any questions.
By the way, I've hosted an exhibition in the past of the work of
Other DeviantArt artists whose work is currently exhibited at 809 Gallery of Art:

How would the artists actually ...go to this exhibition when they're overseas. o_o;

Most of the artists won't be attending the opening, but I have a few who are coming.
