Artist's Comments

Jack Russells are pretty popular breeds where I live, so I get to paint them regularly. They're also sometimes known as "Parson Russell" terriers. If I recall correctly, this one is 8" by 10" (20.5cm by 25.5cm), watercolour.
Since the painting was done using a flash photograph as a reference, I had a little trouble negotiating my way around shadows, but I think the eyes are pretty good, and in my experience, that's what people look at first.
